Anything with a hidden extra, a mystery all the way throughout, an epic battle, basically I like fantasy Novels like Garth Nix, Tolkien or Rodda. Anything enrapturing which grabs you and pulls you along.

Something that has meaning to it, I can't stand dumbed down books.
Also books with lots of action, which often makes up for lack of depth.
